Radiant yarn

I decorated my bag project with glow-in-the-dark wool, glow-in-the-dark smiley face bag, dark night light up your eyes, it's really so cool This glow-in-the-dark effect is what I want, I will continue to repurchase!

I think for the price I wish it had been more. It’s a great addition to my stash and will be fun mixed with other yarns.

The yarn is easy to work with and the glow in the dark is a cool effect. There is not a lot of yarn, but it was fine for my project. I’d buy it again.

Got this for my 9 year old daughter that crochets. She loves that it glows in the dark. It is a thinner yarn. Tangles easily. She has made many things with them. I thought it would be big like the skeins at the store but they are smaller skeins.

These bundles of yarn are super cute. They come in small bundles of different colors. Each color is beautiful and each glows differently. The yarn is thin and smooth. It is not too difficult to work with, but you do need to be mindful of the size of the pattern since you have small amounts of each color. The glow on the dark works well as long as you place it directly under the sun, but the charge doesn't last too long. None the less, it is a pretty neat quality.

Overall, these are pretty neat and beautiful small bundles of yarn. I recommend it.

I did not wash this yarn for testing but I will say it worked up easily with one of the lighter green being the only one that gave me issues with a bit of string catching/splitting. I love how bright they are but as you can see some collect the brightest better than others. I also like that they do not all glow the same though. You can see the difference and that can be fun when working up glow patterns. You can feel the coating as you work with it but nothing rubbed off on my hands or clothing while working with this.

I took the photo in a completely dark room with a red led in the background to compare luminosity. I put a high-powered flashlight on the yarn for about fifteen seconds and that’s what it looked like afterward. They’ve been sitting in a box for a while so they haven’t gotten much light, but if you left these out in the sun for an hour, they would glow like crazy. I got this yarn pack for my girlfriend so she could make a rave outfit with it. There’s not much else to say about this yarn, it’s just like any other yarn except it has the added, awesome effect of glowing in the dark. The lighter colors glow much brighter; the yarn in the photo is the bright green yarn. They all glow green, though. Honestly, great buy!

It glows as good, maybe better, than other glowing yarns I’ve worked with. It’s workable. The one thing I’d wish for is a tighter twist, mainly because I’m left handed.

These mini skeins are so cute. I love how they glow and all the colors are so vibrant. I am not a crocheter. I knit and I I found it extremely easy to work with. I was able to make a nice loosely knit skirt using all the skeins. It's absolutely stunning and I would definitely use the yarn again

This Bulingbuling Glow in The Dark yarn is tightly woven and smaller, which tends to be more difficult for beginner skill levels at crochet. It is very responsive to light though, visibly illuminating under a light within seconds of being held up to it. When testing the workability of the yarn, I found that a 4mm hook was still tightly stitched and therefore more difficult to grab; however, I tend to prefer to crochet tightly and prefer the appearance of tight knits and stitches.

There are a lot of skeins provided in a pack and the center thread was very easy for me to find and begin a project. Although this yarn is not voluminous or soft, it makes for a very structurally sound completed project, perfect for amigurumi and other crochet figures. Considering that I prefer my finished pieces to be presentable and displayable, this texture and structured yarn is very functional for me. However, if you are searching for a soft, cuddly and loose-stitched yarn variety, this one may not fulfil your needs.

I cannot wait to start making a little stuffed animal with this! I suggest putting it out in the sun first to charge it see which colors you like better when they glow. Some of the glow more than others so I would check that out first. Every thing else comes as described as far as amount of yarn. It is also worth mentioning that this is handwashing only!

First of all these skeins are TINY. I weighed them and they’re only like 1.9oz / 53g and fit in the palm of your hand. You get 10 of them in the box, so that helps, but that’s still less than 20oz of yarn for almost $40. That pretty expensive for yarn, even specialty/novelty yarn.

Also this yarn is hard to work with. It’s very stiff (possibly from whatever coating or pigment makes it glow?) and takes a little bit of getting used to. Biggest thing is to make sure to keep your tension a little bit loose, especially if you’re like me and prone to keeping your tension too tight. Overly tight stitches are basically impossible to get your hook into with this yarn. I used a 4mm crochet hook for an amigurumi project, but for other things, a 4.5-5mm might be better. It should be noted that the pink yarn was softer, thinner, and easier to work with but also didn’t glow nearly as well.

However the end result was pretty cute. With less than one skein, I made the “bell” part of this cute little jellyfish (see pictures). The sparkly pink tentacles are also glow in the dark yarn from this same brand.

As for the most important feature — glowing in the dark — it’s okay. I didn’t have much luck getting this to “charge” with natural or ambient light. To get it glow nicely I had to “super charge” it by holding it close to a lamp or flashlight for several minutes. Then the white glowed a really nice bright green. The pink part glowed too, but much harder to actually see in the dark - not as bright. The photo shows the red part much better than it was actually glowing in real life. After being “super charged “ the glow last for only 30-40 minutes or so, but that’s pretty typical for this type of thing.

Overall it’s not super impressive, but works well enough that my kids love playing with it. They don’t mind having to charge it up with the flashlight and they love how nice and bright the white yarn glows. The stiff yarn is a little bit difficult to work with at first, but once you get used to it, it’s not bad, and I didn’t have any problems with splitting or unraveling. However it seems very overpriced for the tiny amount of yarn you get. Novelty yarns are usually more expensive but this one seems very high. 3 stars.
