Private Parties / Lessons(tufting)
Want a little extra guidance when learning to tuft? Prefer a smaller class size? Our private lessons and group parties are perfect for small groups! Consider joining us for a date night, birthday party or special celebration. We can host a party for people as young as 10 years old.
In this hands-on private workshop, participants will learn to use power tufting machines to create a rug or wall hanging. The class will cover the basics of setting up a tufting frame with stretched primary cloth and threading and operating tufting machines. Participants will work on projects of their own design on a frame that can accommodate pieces 22 x 22 inches. Instructions for how to cut, glue, and finish a tufted piece will also be provided.**
Location: Tuft the World Education Studio in South Philadelphia
Experience Level: Beginner friendly. No experience necessary.
Cost:
1-4 people: $100/hr
5-10 people: $250/hr
11-20 people: $400/hr
Time: 3 hour minimum, 6 hour maximum.
For reference, our standard beginner class is 5 hours

Participants are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages for the occasion. Participants will also need to bring any cups/plates/utensils needed.
**Basic finishing guidance is provided during the workshop, should participants choose to finish their tufted rug at home. Finishing supplies (backing cloth, edging trim, adhesive, etc.) are not included as part of the workshop.
Cancellations: If you realize you can’t attend a workshop you’ve already paid for, we’re able to cancel your order and refund your purchase as long as your request is made more than 72 hours before the start of the workshop. Email studio@tufttheworld.com for any questions.
Health & Safety: Masks are optional at this time; Tuft the World is able to supply workshop attendees with a mask if needed. Tuft the World will continue to evaluate the risk of hosting in-person events on a day-by-day basis. If we determine it wise to cancel, you will receive email notification and a full refund. At this time, the event will not require vaccination proof.
